Sedbergh School boasts its own Medical Centre with doctors, nurses and physiotherapists.
Location: The Medical Centre is situated on Winder Drive off Loftus Hill.

Night and Weekend Arrangements: Please phone 015396 22224 if you need urgent Medical attention during school term time. The practice nurses will answer the telephone and contact Dr Batty as necessary.
Out of Term: If you need urgent medical attention when the surgery is closed, please phone 015396 22224. The answer machine message may instruct you to contact Baycall (01539 718999) which provides emergency out of hours care and is based at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal.

Services Offered
- Physiotherapy: There are 2 sessions a week by a visiting physiotherapist for patients in the School Medical Scheme.
- Travel Clinic Advice and information regarding immunisation and travel recommendations. Three months notice of travel is required to plan the immunisation schedule.
- Immunisation: In accordance with the Department of Health we offer a full schedule of immunisations.
- Repeat Prescriptions: These can be ordered by calling the medical centre between 08.00 and 18.00. These will usually be ready within 24 hours.
- Disabled access: Arrangements can be made to allow easy access for disabled patients using the side entrance.
- Home visits: These can be arranged for patients who are too unwell to visit the practice.
- Visitors: We are happy to see any relatives or friends staying with you who become unwell.
Complaints
We endeavour to provide the highest possible standards in medical practice and welcome any constructive criticism. We welcome comments or complaints, which help us to improve our service. These should be addressed to Dr Batty. Making a complaint will not adversely affect your care in any way.
Confidentiality
All of the practice team are bound by the rules of confidentiality and privacy. Any information stored on the computer is confidential between the patient and the Health Care Professional. The computer aids with the smooth running of the practice and provides fast retrieval of important details. The practice is registered under the Data Protection Act 1984.
Patient Responsibility
There is zero tolerance towards patients who are abusive or violent either towards Practice Staff or others persons present in the Practice. Patients are asked to give 24 hours notice when cancelling any appointment at the practice.
