From the Headmaster
I count myself fortunate to be Headmaster of Sedbergh during one of the most exciting periods in our illustrious history.
In 2001 we became fully co-educational, a move which has proved so successful that we opened our second girls' House, Robertson, in 2003. We also opened our Junior School at Low Bentham in 2002 which has now relocated to Sedbergh to be alongside the main school.
I believe that, quite apart from all that we offer in terms of academic, extra-curricular and sporting facilities and opportunities, it is our unique Boarding environment which remains the most attractive feature for families who come to Sedbergh from every part of the country and beyond.
Without doubt, our location in one of the most spectacular parts of England and our beautiful School grounds offer something very special for pupils – this environment is certainly something which remains long in the memory of all who pass through the School.
I hope that, while browsing our website, you will gain a sense of what makes Sedbergh special. However, the only way to understand why we enjoy such success is to experience the School at first hand so I very much hope that you will visit us in the near future.
