Future Developments
Sedbergh has been meeting new challenges for almost 500 years and there are no signs of this changing.
In recent years we have gradually been refurbishing our Boarding Houses to meet the expectations of parents and pupils for comfortable surroundings as well as excellent study facilities. Individual appeals through The Foundation have helped to fund these projects so far and we are most grateful for the generosity of ex-pupils and their families.
Cloisters, Archives and new projects
Remembrance Day 2005 saw the re-dedication of our restored Cloisters after an appeal had raised over £130 000 for the necessary work. We are also building and renovating buildings adjacent to the Library to create an Archive as well as a new Shop and Heritage Centre.
Add to these projects the constant need to develop our sports facilities, improve classroom equipment and invest in infrastructure, and Sedbergh is certainly continuing to change and develop for an exciting future.
Currently the school is exploring the possibility of creating a new performing arts centre which would bring our music and drama activities together under one roof.
