The Archive and Heritage Centre
Our collection documents the rich history of Sedbergh School. The collection includes documents from 1527 to the present day.
Using records such as photographs, diaries, registers, punishments books and sports journals researchers are able to trace famous pupils, family members and interesting events at the school.
The Archive also holds the school's 'Special Collections' of books relating to Sedbergh and Old Sedberghian which allow researchers to conduct much of their research here at Sedbergh.
Using the Archive
Whether you are an Old Sedberghian, a visitor or a resident of Sedbergh looking to spend an interesting morning browsing records, a decendent of an Old Sedberghian looking to research your Family History or a pupil looking for unique resources for a school project you will be very welcome in the archive.
The Archive is staffed by a part time archivist and is usually open on weekday mornings and tuesday afternoons. Walk in visitors are very welcome in the Archive. As some of the school records are held off site and the Archivist works on regular projects with school children and visiting groups it may be useful to make an appointment in advance. This way we can ensure that all the documents and assistance you may require are available at the time of your visit.
