On Thursday Sedbergh Prep School hosted our annual Northern Invitational Cross-Country event. On a muddy, but firm course, which became slippy as the rain fell after the first 3 races, all the runners had to dig deep.

After two days of intensive exercises and interviews last week, I am pleased to announce that Will Newman (42) will become Headmaster of Casterton, Sedbergh Preparatory School on 1 September 2017.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at today's Cross Country Trials - what a great afternoon! Well Done to all pupils who participated, we had some fantastic results. 29 schools competed and we had over 500 runners.
Under 13 Hockey Girls become County Champions!
On Wednesday afternoon, two teams of pupils from the Prep School travelled to Pendle Vale College, Nelson, to compete in the Regional Kids’ Lit Competition against 25 other teams.
At the start of the year 3000 teams started in the 2016 Aegon Team Tennis Schools Year 8 & 10 championships and this year has seen Sedbergh produce their best ever performance.
Pupils at Sedbergh Prep were delighted to meet celebrated children's author Michael Morpurgo last week.
We are delighted to announce that Sedbergh Prep are now the 2016 Hammond Cup Shooting Champions.
On Tuesday 10th May, four of our aspiring scientists travelled to the John Moore University, Liverpool for the Salter’s Science Competition. They were: Edward, Rhys, Sarah, and Alice. Entrants for this competition are from a number of schools in the North West of England and the pupils are typically drawn from Year 8 and 9 classes.
A Week in Cressbrook House (Boys’ Boarding House)
After a hectic lent term, 47 Sedbergh Prep parents and children met at Manchester Airport on Saturday 26th of March, to embark on a family ski trip to Bormio, Italy.
James Griffin in Year 7 has spent most of the Easter holidays competing in both Manchester and Newcastle playing a staggering 30 matches including five in one day.
We are delighted to announce that our pupils have gained fantastic results in their LAMDA Examinations this term obtaining 13 Distinctions and 5 Merits. Well done to all!

An astonishing 385 primary school children from the South Lakeland District competed at Sedbergh Prep on Wednesday in the annual cross-country trials. After all the wet weather of late, we were particularly blessed with a fine, mild day.
On Saturday 14th November James, Year 6, took part in the England Squash North West Regional (Cumbria, Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester) Under 11 Competition. James was very successful managing third place.
Sedbergh School returned from the four-day National Schools Equestrian Championships last week ranking eighth in the country and with a National Champion, Storm Straker, in the team.
