SEDBERGH PREP SCHOOL COLLECT THE CUP IN BIATHLON AGAINST MOWDEN HALL

The sporting life of Sedbergh Prep School got off to a flying start this term with a whole school fixture against Mowden Hall School.

On an unusually warm and sunny day for Sedbergh, over 240 pupils from Year 3 to 8 took part in a great afternoon of sport. Each competitor started their competition in the pool and although there were some excellent swimmers from both schools it was a challenge for everyone.

Competitors then had to dig deep for the running section which took place around the school grounds which, thankfully, is fairly flat! This was a great opportunity for Sedbergh Prep runners to show their strength and this is where they truly came to the fore; they ran well and there were many individual medal winners.

Sedbergh won the overall team trophy and there was much to celebrate both in terms of excellence in performance from some, but also the demonstration throughout the entire team of the Sedbergh pride and determination that we value so highly.

Julia Rollings, Head of Girls Sport at Sedbergh Prep, said; ‘The amazing support from our parents undoubtedly helped our young athletes on their way. Thank you to all staff and parents who made this event such a success and to all our enthusiastic competitors. Special congratulations should go to the pupils who were individual medallists’.
