The 9th of June, saw 125 members of the Sedbergh School community power up and down Casterton Fell under glorious blue skies in the seven mile ‘Epic’ run.
The sporting life of Sedbergh Prep School got off to a flying start this term with a whole school fixture against Mowden Hall School.
In April, four young shooters from Sedbergh Prep arrived at the Armoury to join the Sedbergh Senior Squad for its Easter training camp.
We are set to begin a fresh chapter in our development as a school, with a curriculum review centred on thinking skills, philosophy and maximising the benefit of our incredible STEM facilities.
This week I have spoken to the current Year 7s, who now have the chance to apply for a position of service and responsibility for the remainder of the summer term.
Sedbergh Prep School Chamber Choir toured the colleges and historic sites of Oxford University and Blenheim Palace last weekend, performing two concerts to appreciative audiences. Previous destinations have included Edinburgh, Cambridge University and Canterbury.
It has been a real pleasure to get back to School this last week-and-a-bit: the children all seem to be on very top form and enjoying the different ‘feel’ of the summer term.
In 2010, Sedbergh School had 408 pupils, there were 83 pupils in Sedbergh Junior School and the programme of summer sports courses was in its infancy.
Last Friday's poetry competition was a wonderful way in which to round off the week, with a full house in the Tom Penny Theatre and an atmosphere of anticipation and expectation.
It was a real delight to watch the Years 6 and 7 pupils in ‘The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents’.
It has been a nice return to normality this week, getting through Monday to Friday without a snowflake in sight.
In a week where I thought I might be suffering from Winter Olympics withdrawal syndrome, we have had plenty of our own snow sports to get involved with, courtesy of the Beast from the East.

On Thursday Sedbergh Prep School hosted our annual Northern Invitational Cross-Country event. On a muddy, but firm course, which became slippy as the rain fell after the first 3 races, all the runners had to dig deep.
