Drama Awards
Available for entry into Years 9, 10 and 12
Drama Scholarships for entry at years 9 and 10 are awarded to candidates who demonstrate outstanding creative thinking and can present an innovative and emotive performance.
- candidates will need to prepare a short piece of their choice of no more than 3 minutes duration to perform to an audience
- they can also expect to be asked questions about their experiences of theatre, productions they have been involved in, characters they have enjoyed performing and to justify their choice for audition.
Drama Scholarships for entry at Year 12 are awarded for outstanding dramatic performance and to candidates who demonstrate the ability to communicate innovative ideas and enthusiasm for this subject.
There is a written paper and interview based upon:
- theory and subject knowledge
- play text analysis
- evaluation of a live performance seen by the candidate
Candidates should bring a portfolio of work to include any relevant qualifications gained e.g. LAMDA examinations and evidence of their involvement within productions to indicate their depth and range of experience within the Dramatic Arts. Candidates' portfolios will be discussed at interview.
