“Sedbergh is a diverse School. This is a School wholly committed to the broadest possible education in which every individual may find their particular niche and through their own success gain the confidence to acknowledge others more talented than they in different areas. Whether they are destined for Oxbridge and Ivy League universities or need support in their studies, here they will find a diverse range of teachers who are united in their commitment to our pupils’ individual success.
We recognise the privilege and the responsibility we have in forging the character of young men and women. Our Houses are the heart of our community and those who run them are exceptional role models committed to the very best pastoral care. All our teachers live in, or close to the School and are keen to share their interests and skills with our pupils. This led to our extra-curricular programme being described as “Exceptional” by the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate who wrote that “pupils appreciate the unique setting of the school and come to understand the transformative effect of its natural beauty.”
