Sedbergh School are currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic, flexible and knowledgeable   Database Administrator to join our IT Department. 

This is a full time, permanent position. Hours and days will be as follows:

- Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 5:30pm
Some Saturday cover will be required, as well as flexibility in working hours and patterns to meet the requirements of the School

- Salary: Up to £23,000, depending on qualifications and experience

Sedbergh School will assist with accommodation for this role and will also offer staff benefits, which include contributory pension scheme with life cover.

VACANCY – GIRLS' SPORT GRA (SEDBERGH SCHOOL)

Sedbergh School is an ideal place for living out the ethos of allowing children to be children. We strive to realise the potential in all of our pupils, from the classroom to the stage or to the sports pitch.

We are now seeking a full time GRA to enhance the sports provision for girls, on a fixed contract for the academic year 2018 – 2019.

The successful candidate must be able to coach and umpire hockey and netball, will enjoy the chance to shape our enthusiastic pupils in these sports and will enjoy the support of a school with a strong sporting heritage.

Free accommodation is provided within the boarding house with all meals provided during term time.

VACANCY – HOUSE CHEF

Sedbergh School are currently seeking a House Chef to work within the Boarding Houses in the School. Very much a valued and appreciated part of each team, the ideal candidate would be confident leading a team and overseeing the provision of varied and healthy meals for pupils and staff in the Boarding House with additional work at Sedbergh Summer School.

Working for Sedbergh School means working within the school community as part of a close-knit team within the Hospitality Department. We are looking to employ enthusiastic people who would like a varied working environment with the opportunity to develop their careers further through NVQ or other qualifications with a goal for some to develop as senior managers.

The proximity to the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the area around Morecambe Bay offers the outdoors enthusiast a wide range of walking, fishing, sailing, climbing, caving and other outdoor pursuits all within easy reach. For those with a desire to get away occasionally the M6 motorway and the West Coast railway are both a short distance away for travel North or South while other routes make West Yorkshire and the North East easy to reach.

VACANCY – CLEANING & CATERING ASSISTANTS (SEDBERGH & CASTERTON)

Are seeking Cleaning and Catering Assistants to join the current hardworking and friendly teams.
We have vacancies for the following shifts Monday to Sundays:-
- 7am to 2pm
- 9am to 2pm
- 10am to 7pm
- 5pm to 7pm

Our hourly rates are:
- £8.03 per hour for working week days
- £8.83 per hour for weekend working

VACANCY – TRAINEE CHEF (SEDBERGH & CASTERTON)

Sedbergh School is seeking enthusiastic people who would like to start their careers as chefs. You will work alongside the Senior House Chef who will be responsible for your training. For those who have just completed college courses this will be an opportunity to further develop skills in modern cuisine and gain further qualifications with the goal of progressing quickly to becoming a deputy chef. For apprentices, we are offering the opportunity to train at Kendal College on a day release basis, while gaining practical experience. 

The ideal candidates would soon gain sufficient experience to have the confidence to cook breakfasts or prepare tea without direct supervision, and have the ambition to extend their careers further by becoming a House Chef once they have achieved the required experience and qualifications.  

You will be expected to work one of the two main shift patterns (06:30 AM to 2:30 PM) producing breakfast and delivering lunch with the Senior House Chef or working a later shift (11am to 7 PM) covering lunch and producing tea. Ideally you would work one day over a weekend but some individual needs can be met.
