Year 11 start mock exams in a week’s time. In late February it’s the turn of the Lower and Upper Sixth. We devote a lot of time to preparation, sitting, marking and reviewing mock exams yet they are quickly dismissed as simply a practice run when there’s really much more to them that that.

Four New National Youth Choir Choristers for Sedbergh School

Four Sedbergh School pupils are among the latest new recruits to the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, joining three existing members. Jack Wallace-Woodroffe (Y9, SH), Toby Randall-Paley (Y12, H), Jeremy Cowen (Y13, H), Lucy Preston (Y9, R) join James Horan (Y11, W), Tom Willock (Y11, SH), and Mollie Richmond (Y11, R) who had successful auditions last year.

Lower Sixth Dinner

The lower sixth Robertson girls hosted their first dinner party on Saturday evening.

They created the menu of prawn cocktail, rump steak with creamed mash, chocolate pudding or banoffee pie, cheese and biscuits and coffee. The dress code for the evening was black tie and the girls and their invited guests were a pleasure to host.

Saturday evening saw the Upper Sixth joined by their guests for a wonderful dinner. The menu was designed by the boys and they interpreted it themselves to create the version that was placed on the table for their guests to read.

Lunchtime in School House on the first day back at School. “Are we going running today, Sir?” Much discussion about the rain-lashed windows ensues amongst the Year 11 I am dining with. The consensus is that this is perfect running weather and that any attempt to cancel it would be met with disbelief and disappointment.
