The School Day

 The typical school day starts at 8.30am with a whole school formal Assembly, followed by lessons until morning break (and snack!). Lessons then continue until lunch time which is a sit-down meal in the Dining Room (Queen’s Hall) with all the School, staff and children, gathered together.

After lunch pupils have a chance to play in the two playgrounds or on the playing field grass until 2.10pm when afternoon school starts.

Lessons continue until 5.00pm when Day Pupils are collected by parents or go home on our school buses. Our Boarders will then begin their evening boarding routine, as outlined in the Boarding section of this website.

Older pupils from Years 6, 7 and 8 have lessons on Saturday mornings with team sports on Saturday afternoons for all ages.

Most pupils average over eight hours of exercise and two hours of music each week as well as their studies and some time to relax with their friends, creating a structured and secure framework for them to learn, grow and develop.
