  • We are currently looking to recruit a:

     

    RANGE QUALIFIED SAFETY SUPERVISOR IN THE COMBINED CADET FORCE

     

    The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) at Sedbergh School is looking for help in running/assisting with Live Fire Marksmanship Training (LFMT).  Assistance is required to help with supervision of range practices and other CCF training activities such as fieldcraft, drill, map and compass work and weapon training.

     

    The CCF at Sedbergh School shoots most Wednesdays and Thursdays during the summer term.  It is anticipated that the scope of the work may vary from time to time. 

     

    The cadets fire the following calibres: 0.22 inch rifles, 5.56mm rifles and 7.62mm rifles.  You will have to pass Weapon Handling Tests (WHTs) on each weapon system prior to attending ranges unless you are in date, current and competent.

     

    If you hold SA (A)(90)/SA(B)(90) qualification and are interested in helping to train cadets during range work, then contact the School Staff Instructor, WOII Mark Hill on 015396 22231 or the Personnel Officer, Mrs Debbie Corney on 015396 20303.

  • Summer School Administrator

    Vacancy

     

    The successful launch of the Sedbergh International Summer School in 2010 has created the opportunity for a Summer School Administrator position within Sedbergh School.

     

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team with ambitious plans for growth in pupil numbers and revenues in summer 2011.  The role will be responsible for the development and implementation of new policies, procedures and systems on behalf of the summer school. The role will report directly to the Operations Director and work closely with existing Finance and Marketing Departments within the school.

     

    Duties will include direct support to the Operations Director and all aspects of customer service and sales in dealing with new enquiries and registrations for the Summer School.

     

    Ideally applicants should have exceptional customer service and communication skills in dealing with prospective  pupils and parents. Previous experience in dealing with overseas students and overseas agents would be preferred.  

     

    Expertise in setting up relevant administrative and business systems would be an advantage.

     

    This position will initially offer a 52 week contract on a fixed term for one year.  The successful candidate will work 37 ½ hours per week (flexible working is available to fulfil the requirements of the position to cover some evenings and weekends)

    •        Excellent  MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    •        Degree level education

    •        Clear and confident verbal and written client communication

    •        Strong preference for previous  sales experience in dealing with overseas pupils and agents

    •        Proven business administration skills

    Salary £20,000 per annum depending on relevant experience.
