Monday 28th September - Saturday 3rd October 2020
daily from 09:00 to 12:30
As we look forward to all our pupils returning to School in September, we are pleased to invite you to attend our first ever Open Week at Sedbergh Prep School, with the opportunity to visit Sedbergh Senior School at the same time.
Our Open Days traditionally attract a large number of interested families and would currently not be able to take place. We have decided, therefore, to extend our normal Open Day to become an Open Week, thus allowing us to welcome and tour families on an individual basis, or in small groups that adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Families are invited to register using the form on this page, select their preferred date to visit the Prep School and indicate if they would also like to visit the Senior School on the same day
Our admissions team will then contact you to confirm a time for your visit, which will include opportunities to meet members of the Senior Leadership Team, academic and boarding staff, as well as taking a tour of the School.
Please note that only pre-registered visitors from one household are permitted to attend and the number of tours available each day is limited.
Families will be asked to declare themselves fit to attend prior to their visit date; please note that each visitor over 11 will be asked to wear a face covering for the duration of their visit.
Please complete the form on this page to register.
If you are unable to visit during our Open Week, but would like to arrange an individual socially distanced tour of either or both the Prep and Senior Schools, please still complete the form on this page, noting your requirements, or email us at [email protected]
We look forward to welcoming you to Sedbergh this autumn.
For further information on 11+ Scholarships, available to children looking to join us in September 2021 in Year 7, please visit our Scholarships page by clicking the button below. Scholarship assessments are due to take place at the Prep School in the week commencing 12th October 2020.
Please note that if socially distanced tours become impossible, due to government guidelines relating to the fight against Covid-19, we will organise a virtual Open Day instead.
Please see below the 360° tour of some of our key facilities at Sedbergh Prep School. Look out for the Sedbergh wolf logo around the tour that highlight the locations of the interactive hotspots, which will provide you with further information.

TRAVELLING TO SEDBERGH PREP & SENIOR SCHOOLS
The small, safe yet vibrant market towns of Sedbergh (home to Sedbergh Senior School) and Kirkby Lonsdale (closest town to the Prep School) are situated between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, two of the most visited National Parks in Europe. Just 10 miles apart from each other, both Schools benefit from excellent road and rail links, and two international airports are within easy distance.
Sedbergh Senior and Prep Schools are under five miles from the M6, giving fast motorway access to Scotland, the Midlands and the South. From the North East the recommended route is either the A1 and A66 from Scotch Corner or, if living further south, the A65. The A684 through the Yorkshire Dales is beautiful, but very much slower.
Both Schools are within a 90 minute drive of Manchester and Liverpool international airports, with Manchester Airport having domestic connections from London Heathrow and Gatwick and also serving European and Worldwide destinations.
Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale are 25 minutes from the Lake District town of Kendal, and just 35 minutes from the city of Lancaster. Oxenholme Lake District station can be reached by direct trains from London Euston within 2 hours 40 minutes and is a key stopping point on the West Coast Main Line.
