HOUSE SPELLING BEE FINAL

On Tuesday morning, three members of each day House competed in the inaugural Spelling Bee House Final. Everyone in Years 3-8 competed in the opening round and the top spellers in each section of the School were selected to compete in the Final.

Individual performances, team events and a quick-fire round gave the finalists an opportunity to shine and the standard of spelling was extremely high. As the competition moved into its final stages, all of the teams were potentially in a winning position and the tension and excitement in the Tom Penny Theatre was tangible.

However, Wenning managed to extend their lead in the dying seconds of the competition and became the deserving recipients of the new House Spelling Bee Trophy. Although only one House could win, every finalist should be extremely proud of the courage, skill and determination they demonstrated in this closely-contested Final. Many congratulations to you all!
