JOE SINGS HIS WAY INTO NATIONAL CHOIR

Year 8 pupil, Joe DeGroote, has been selected to join a flagship national boys’ choir after a competitive audition process.

Joe will now sing as part of the Cambiata Voices, an ensemble for boys with changing voices that forms part of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. The selection panel were impressed with not only Joe’s voice but his aural skills and musicality. He will now take part in residential vocal courses and sing at prestigious venues across the UK as part of the group’s performance calendar.

Headmaster Will Newman expressed his delight at Joe’s selection: “We have been lucky to have Joe lighting up various concerts at Sedbergh Prep School; since he joined the Junior Chamber Choir in Year 3 to his current role as Head of the Boys’ Choir.  I am extremely proud that an even wider audience will now get to hear Joe’s wonderful singing voice, and his place in the ensemble could not go to a nicer or more deserving young man.”
