LEADERSHIP DAY WITH CAPTAIN LYDIATE AND 4 LANCS

On Tuesday 12th September, our Year 7 & 8 pupils enjoyed a Leadership Day led by Major Lydiate of 4th Battalion The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment (4-LANCS). The day commenced with a brief by Captain Lydiate on leadership and our pupils were then quickly divided into 8 Platoons (based upon their School Houses).

Over the course of the morning, each Platoon enjoyed 8 separate activities led by serving men from 4-LANCS. Head Boy, Ben Redshaw, Tom Newman, Milly Gunning and Pippa Darlington were particularly impressive on the Bleep Test; whilst Oliver Fiddler and Kiera Butler demonstrated excellent leadership qualities during the Command Task Sections.

During the presentation Major Lydiate was most complimentary about our pupils’ manners; their problem solving skills; can-do attitude and, above all, teamwork.
