On Tuesday 12th September, our Year 7 & 8 pupils enjoyed a Leadership Day led by Major Lydiate of 4th Battalion The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment (4-LANCS). The day commenced with a brief by Captain Lydiate on leadership and our pupils were then quickly divided into 8 Platoons (based upon their School Houses).
Over the course of the morning, each Platoon enjoyed 8 separate activities led by serving men from 4-LANCS. Head Boy, Ben Redshaw, Tom Newman, Milly Gunning

During each activity, the instructors from 4-LANCS placed a considerable emphasis on stamina, integrity and moral courage.




Team 2 Lune were judged to be the best overall Platoon and each member received a certificate of recognition and a bag of Regimental treats. Wenning House were recognized as being the best House overall; Lune 2nd and Rawthey and Dee joint 3rd. During the presentation Major Lydiate was most complimentary about our pupils’ manners; their problem solving skills; can-do attitude and, above all, teamwork.

The day was rounded off with a formal dinner and words of thanks were given to the Commanding Officer of 4-LANCS, Lt. Col. Justin Tancrel in absentia.
