Dear Parents
No doubt you will be just as ready as me for the re-opening of School on Monday. I know staff feel just as ready to take the first steps back on a steady road to normality and teaching in-person once again. There was a lot of detail in last week’s Newsletter and so I will not go over this again in today’s offering. Please do refresh your memory by pulling it up again if you are unsure about anything; this particularly applies to Years 7 and 8 who will be undergoing lateral flow testing on Sunday and Monday. The first part of Monday will be spent with Form Tutors who will spend some time refreshing the pupils’ memories on staying safe. After so long away from other children I know they will need reminding about Hands, Face and Space so any similar conversations with parents beforehand would be greatly appreciated.
It felt as though yesterday’s World Book Day came at just the right time, with a day off screen very welcome for the pupils. The virtual visiting author, Robin Stevens, was fascinating and did a great job of speaking to a wide age range. Some outstanding efforts on the costume front, with some particularly impressive human and animal characters to be seen!
Having covered all of the Ways of the Wolf in the last six E-ssemblies, I have put together a montage of the various efforts since the first lockdown; sobering to think that this was nearly a year ago. In the nicest possible way, I hope to never have to put one together again!
Before signing off, a word for Steph, Lee and Emma from the Friends of Sedbergh who orchestrated a brilliant family quiz night last week. It was awesome to see so many faces – young and old(er) – assembled together and a lovely reminder of the strength of our team. Congratulations to Wenning House, whose victory earns them a Home Clothes Day in the weeks to come and a particular ‘well done’ for the Wood family who led from the first bend and never looked back!
Have a wonderful weekend
Will
