PRE-PREP (AGES 3 TO 7)

The Pre-Prep area of School warmly welcomes children aged 3 (when they join Pre-School), into Reception and through to the end of Year 2, when they have turned 7. Our dedicated staff and creative environment help to ensure every child in our care develops the essential learning characteristics to support them throughout their lives.

Our most recent Independent Schools Inspectorate report rated the School as excellent (the highest level possible) for the quality of both pupils' academic education and personal development. The report highlighted that “pupils achieve highly and make excellent progress across the ages” and are “well prepared for the next stage of their lives, demonstrating self-confidence, self-awareness and resilience.”

The School’s Ways of the Wolf – ambition, collaboration, courage, creativity, kindness and responsibility – are at the heart of everything we do. Our pupils learn the importance of being part of a community where everyone is valued, and effort is celebrated alongside achievement. Our smaller class sizes allow us to focus on individually tailoring each child’s learning journey throughout the Pre-Prep. This personalised approach, and our experienced team, ensure that the children feel secure and supported at every step.

Come along and discover what all the smiles are about!

We are proud of the learning opportunities we provide for our youngest pupils, ones that develop not only knowledge but the aptitude to question, problem solve, communicate and to understand that failure is part of the path to success.

When children move onto the Prep section of the School, at the end of Year 2, 85% have met or exceeded age-related expectations in maths, 74% have met or exceeded age-related expectations in writing and, on average, the children have a reading ability 18 months above their actual age.

Throughout the Pre-Prep, children benefit from being taught by subject specialists in art, music, physical education and languages and visit the library, design, technology and engineering workshop, computer suites and science laboratories on a regular basis.

Please do arrange a visit by completing the form below, and see the smiles on faces and hear the chatter and laughter that ring daily throughout Pre-Prep. You can also find out more information about our Reception class on this page.
