prep school Open days
FRiday 1st and saturday 2nd october from 10:00 onwards
Our next Open Days will be held in October 2021, and are usually held on a termly basis throughout the rest of the year.
Families attending the Open Days will have the opportunity to meet the Headmaster, our pupils and academic and boarding staff, as well as tour the school campus. We hope this will give an insight into life at the Prep School and highlight how we bring out the best in every child through our exciting curriculum, nurturing environment and unrivalled extra-curricular activities programme.
For families with a child interested in applying for a Year 7 entry Scholarship, the visit will include the opportunity to meet with some of our current scholars in Years 7 and 8.
If you are interested in attending one of our forthcoming Open Days, please complete the form on this page and one of our admissions team will be in touch to confirm your preferred date and time.
Currently, any guests to the School, aged 11 and over, are required to take a lateral flow test on arrival. These COVID-19 protocols are subject to change at the time of each visit and will be confirmed to you by our staff in advance.
We look forward to welcoming you to Sedbergh Prep School this October!

TRAVELLING TO SEDBERGH PREP & SENIOR SCHOOLS
The small, safe yet vibrant market towns of Sedbergh (home to Sedbergh Senior School) and Kirkby Lonsdale (closest town to the Prep School) are situated between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, two of the most visited National Parks in Europe. Just 10 miles apart from each other, both Schools benefit from excellent road and rail links, and two international airports are within easy distance.
Sedbergh Senior and Prep Schools are under five miles from the M6, giving fast motorway access to Scotland, the Midlands and the South. From the North East the recommended route is either the A1 and A66 from Scotch Corner or, if living further south, the A65. The A684 through the Yorkshire Dales is beautiful, but very much slower.
Both Schools are within a 90 minute drive of Manchester and Liverpool international airports, with Manchester Airport having domestic connections from London Heathrow and Gatwick and also serving European and Worldwide destinations.
Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale are 25 minutes from the Lake District town of Kendal, and just 35 minutes from the city of Lancaster. Oxenholme Lake District station can be reached by direct trains from London Euston within 2 hours 40 minutes and is a key stopping point on the West Coast Main Line.
