11+ Scholarships and Bursaries

We seek to recognise individual children’s potential and talents through our 11+ Scholarships, for Year 7 entry.

Enquire About Scholarships

At Sedbergh, we recognise exceptional talent and potential through our 11+ Scholarships. They are the highest awards available, granted at the Head’s discretion, to children entering Year 7, and are designed to nurture talent and ability in the fields of academia, art, design, technology and engineering, drama, music and sport.

The Prep School’s respected Scholarship Enrichment Programme is designed to challenge and inspire successful 11+ scholars throughout their time in Years 7 and 8, fostering their intellectual curiosity, personal growth and preparation for future achievements. The Programme is designed to provide a holistic framework that nurtures not only the specific talents and potential of scholarship recipients but also their overall academic, personal and social development. 11+ Scholarship receipients may also be eligiable for a fee concession of up to 20%, which continues throughout their time at Sedbergh Prep and Senior School.

Scholarship assessments for future Year 7 pupils take place in the January when they are in Year 6. For more information, please contact the relevant member of the Admissions Team:

If you are interested in finding out more, please complete this form and our team will contact you to discuss the Scholarship application process in more detail. Please note, we require a school and scholarship application form to be completed, along with payment of the school’s application fee, prior to sitting the scholarship assessment.

We understand that the financial aspect of an independent education is significant. If your child’s enrolment at Sedbergh depends on fee support, please consult with the Admissions Team before beginning the scholarship application process. More information is available on this page regarding Means Tested Bursaries and other concessions.
