"You get the best out of every child, whatever their strengths.”
Year 7 Parent feedback

At Sedbergh, we recognise distinctive potential and abilities through our 11+ Scholarships. They are the highest awards available, granted at the Headmaster’s discretion, to children entering Year 7, and are designed to nurture talent and ability in the fields of academia, music, drama, sport, art and design, technology and engineering.

Scholarships pupils become a member of the School's respected Scholars’ Programme and receive a nominal financial concession towards their tuition fees, which continues throughout their time at Sedbergh Prep and the Senior School. Applications for means tested bursaries can also be submitted once Scholarships have been awarded.

Our Scholarship assessment days, for Year 7 entry in September 2021, will take place during the week commencing 12th October 2020.

If you would like to make a 2021 Scholarship application, please complete and return both a School Registration and Scholarship Application Form to the Admissions Team by Friday 2nd October 2020. Both forms can be found by clicking the buttons below.

The day(s) for the individual assessments, during the week of 12th October, will be confirmed, once we know the number of children applying for each of the Scholarship categories. Currently, we are unable to offer a boarding experience as part of this year's assessment, however this is under constant review and we will update you should this change.

Our Scholarship assessment days are designed as an information gathering process and, as such, it is hoped that they will create as little anxiety as possible for the children. The decisions regarding the awarding of Scholarships will be communicated to families within two weeks.

Please be aware that we may face potential changes to the planned Scholarship assessment days, linked to changing  COVID-19 protocols and guidelines. It would be useful to have any supporting evidence, including references from teachers / coaches and videos / online portfolios of work, available to share with the the School, should the need arise.
