Virtual Open DAYS
tues 2nd march at 15:00 GMT
sat 6th march at 10:00 gmt
Following the success of our virtual open events last year, we are pleased to announce our first online events for 2021 which will be held on Tuesday 2nd and Saturday 6th March 2021.
During these virtual Open Day sessions, guests will have the opportunity to attend the following webinar sessions:
- Welcome from our Headmaster, Mr Will Newman
- Boarding Information Session with House Parents, Mrs Kath Follett and Dr Phil Hoskin and Assistant Head, Mr Nick Goligher
- Meet Our Pupils - a Q&A session with two of our Senior pupils from Years 7 and 8. On a normal Open Day our pupils conduct the tours of the School, so this session will allow families to ask our pupils questions about their time at Sedbergh Prep School.
- UK 11+ Scholarship Information Session with Mr Will Newman, Headmaster and Mrs Rebekah Dallas, Deputy Head
- Q&A Session with Mr Will Newman, Mrs Rebekah Dallas, Mr Nick Goligher and Registrar, Mrs Anna Cooper
We hope these sessions will give you an insight into life at the Prep School, answer any questions you may have and explain how we bring out the best in every child, both in and outside and classroom.
During all the webinar sessions, you will be able to submit questions to the panel using the chat function within Zoom, and questions can also be sent in advance.
If you would like to arrange 1-2-1 meetings with key staff on this, or a later, date, our Admissions team would be very happy to organise these for you.
If you would like to attend one of our Virtual Open Days sessions, please complete the form on this page, call +44 (0)15242 79200 or email admissions@sedberghprep.org
We look forward to meeting you soon.
Due to high demand, additional UK 11+ Scholarship Assessments will be organised once Covid-19 guidelines permit. We hope to hold these later in March or in the Easter holidays.
Scholarship Awards are available to UK based children looking to join the School in Year 7, in September 2021.

TRAVELLING TO SEDBERGH PREP & SENIOR SCHOOLS
The small, safe yet vibrant market towns of Sedbergh (home to Sedbergh Senior School) and Kirkby Lonsdale (closest town to the Prep School) are situated between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, two of the most visited National Parks in Europe. Just 10 miles apart from each other, both Schools benefit from excellent road and rail links, and two international airports are within easy distance.
By Road
Sedbergh Senior and Prep Schools are under five miles from the M6, giving fast motorway access to Scotland, the Midlands and the South. From the North East the recommended route is either the A1 and A66 from Scotch Corner or, if living further south, the A65. The A684 through the Yorkshire Dales is beautiful, but very much slower.
BY AIR
Both Schools are within a 90 minute drive of Manchester and Liverpool international airports, with Manchester Airport having domestic connections from London Heathrow and Gatwick and also serving European and Worldwide destinations.
BY RAIL
Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale are 25 minutes from the Lake District town of Kendal, and just 35 minutes from the city of Lancaster. Oxenholme Lake District station can be reached by direct trains from London Euston within 2 hours 40 minutes and is a key stopping point on the West Coast Main Line.
