Friday 8th may 2020

reception to year 8 entry

We warmly invite you to join our virtual Open Morning on Friday 8th May 2020 (Bank Holiday), from 10:00 am.

As we find ourselves in unprecedented times, Sedbergh Prep School is proactively trying to find ways it can operate as normally as possible. An extensive home learning programme has been in place since 23rd March, covering all aspects of our wide-reaching curriculum for pupils from Reception to Year 8.

We will operate a virtual event on the planned date of our termly Open Morning. Guests will be invited to attend a live presentation and Q&A with our Headmaster, Mr Will Newman.

Using the form on this page, you can also request to meet with other members of our academic staff on the same morning. Videos will also be made available that we hope will give you a flavour of what life is like at Sedbergh Prep School.

We look forward to meeting you online soon.

For children also interested in applying for one of our 11+ Scholarship Awards, please click here for more information. Scholarship assessments for Year 7 entry in September 2021 will take place in the autumn of 2020.

If you are unable to attend our Virtual Open Morning on 8th May but would like to arrange to meet our team on a different day, please click here for our Virtual visit page.

Located just outside Kirkby Lonsdale, voted the number 1 place to live in the North West by The Sunday Times, Sedbergh Prep School enjoys an enviable location between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Park. Its location also benefits from excellent road and rail links, and two international airports are within easy distance.

By Road

Sedbergh Prep School is just five miles from the M6 J36, giving fast motorway access to Scotland, the Midlands and the South. From the East the recommended route is to use the A66 or A65. The A684 through the Yorkshire Dales is beautiful, but very much slower.

Sedbergh Prep School is within a 90 minute drive of Manchester and Liverpool international airports, with Manchester Airport having domestic connections from London Heathrow and Gatwick and also serving European and worldwide destinations.

Oxenholme Lake District station, just 20 minutes from the School, is a key stopping point on the West Coast Main Line, with direct trains from London Euston taking around 2.5 hours. Sedbergh Prep School is 25 minutes from the Lake District town of Kendal, and just 30 minutes from the city of Lancaster.
