Payments are a massive part of the admissions process to schools and universities, so why should these important payments be a cumbersome process?
Payments of yesteryear were typically about bank transfers and cheques. These “old school” methods are cumbersome, expensive and time consuming. When was the last time you went to the bank in person? For me, it was more than a year and a half ago!
In today’s changing world, and especially in light of COVID-19, most of us prefer to pay electronically by card. Not only because online payments are contactless, but also frictionless and instant.
We’re delighted to have partnered with Sedbergh School to help deliver on their students’ and families most important moments. Flywire makes the payment process to Sedbergh School frictionless by providing overseas families the ability to easily pay online via bank transfer, cards or e-wallet from over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
I’m delighted to have had the chance to work with Sedbergh. The school’s brand and reputation is excellent. I had the pleasure of meeting David Milner at an industry event and from the first meeting it was clear that he is passionate about education and that Sedbergh’s ability to build authentic relationships globally is key to its ambitious innovation. These key attributes align with our vision at Flywire so I knew our solution would be a great fit for Sedbergh School.
When I spoke with the finance team at Sedbergh they were experiencing some of the typical cross-border payment challenges we see many schools and universities face: short payments, hard-to -identify transactions, labour-intensive reconciliation, security and fraudulent activity concerns, and the cost of processing card payments.
In challenging times, like the ones we are currently facing, it can often be difficult to be prepared. In the case of Sedbergh, it’s still payments as usual, having successfully implemented Flywire in 2019.
With Flywire, payments are the foundation of our business, so students and families are able to process transactions online at any time of day from locations around the world via bank transfer or card. As a result, students and families are able to continue with education plans. I’m glad Flywire can be a small part of that!
