Twenty two schools competed at Gateshead International Stadium in the HMC Athletics Competition yesterday. Sedbergh entered Senior, Inter and Junior boys and girls, finishing with an impressive haul of 28 individual medals.

Lucia Sdao, Head of Girls’ Sport and former England netballer (101 caps), said: “Their success is down to talent and having Games every afternoon – which can develop this. Sedbergh has an environment where the pupils all expect to achieve in academic study, music and sport; and this is combined with great facilities and sports coaching of the highest level.

We also benefit from clean air and an excellent team spirit! Our pupils want to be the best and they help each other to get there. It couldn’t have been more evident at this event.”
