INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL UPDATE

Registrations are now being taken for boys and girls from around the world to join Sedbergh International Summer School which this year will run for the first time at Casterton, Sedbergh Prep School, from 10 July to 6 August 2016.

Now in its sixth year, the course is owned and operated by Sedbergh School, with many boys and girls returning to Sedbergh each summer from 15 different countries.

Many of the School’s own staff and former pupils work on the course which ensures a true Sedberghian experience for all. Pupils are divided into Juniors (9-12 years) and Seniors (13-16 years) and they will enjoy full immersion in the English language with 22 hours of English lessons each week.

Pupils benefit from small class sizes and an exciting curriculum with a different theme each week. A variety of teaching styles is used, and daily group language activities help pupils to engage and learn effectively.

Other highlights include two full-day excursions each week and this year pupils will visit iconic cities of Edinburgh, York, Liverpool and Newcastle. They will also have the opportunity to try 25 different sports and activities including horse-riding, climbing wall, sailing, golf and, our favourite one, zorbing!

Evenings are spent at fun social events such as Talent Shows, Quiz nights, barbeques and discos. It’s all designed to develop self-confidence and independence and is ideal as a taster of life at Sedbergh School.

The number of speakers of any one language is limited to no more than 20% thereby maximising the opportunity for pupils to converse in English and ensuing it remains a quality opportunity for individuals to experience a summer to remember.

The Summer School will run for 4 weeks from Sunday 10th July to Saturday 6th August 2016. Want to find out more? Please see http://iss.sedberghschool.org/
