Northern Schools Fives Tournament Success for Sedbergh

This weekend’s Sedbergh School Fives team travelled to Durham to play in the Northern Schools Fives Tournament. Most players had never played a competitive game of Fives and those that had played before, had not played for over a year.
On Saturday it was the singles competition. In the U16 draw, Ollie G won the tournament and Matthew C was runner up. Lukas M won the plate competition to make it a clean sweep for Sedbergh
In the U18s singles competition, James G and Archie G reached the semi-finals but were both defeated by players from the City of Durham Fives club. In the plate competition, Rhys R was also knocked out at the semi-final stage.
On Sunday it was the doubles event. James G & Archie G finished as runners up in the U18 competition. Ollie G and Lukas M were runners up in the U16 competition.
