OXBRIDGE OFFERS FOR SEDBERGH SCHOOL PUPILS

Three pupils from Sedbergh School opened their post to discover that they had been successful in their applications to Oxford and Cambridge.

Will Ross and Maja Segger received offers of A*A*A to read medicine at Pembroke College, Cambridge and engineering at Emmanuel College, Cambridge respectively; and Charlie Papworth an offer of AAA to read Law at Christ Church, Oxford.

All three pupils are school prefects alongside which Charlie has played rugby for Welsh Academicals and has been selected for the national U18 squad, whilst Will as a member of the UK U18 target rifle shooting team which toured Canada last August.

Whilst the lucky three were receiving their offers, ten other pupils from Year 10-12 were exploring Cambridge, meeting undergraduates and tutors in order to consider their own applications in the years ahead.

Headmaster, Andrew Fleck, commented that, “We are determined to offer the very best individual pathway for each pupil whether they are destined for the best universities, wish to study music, art, drama or pursue a career in sport or in the Forces. I am delighted for Charlie, Will and Maja who are outstanding students and grateful for all the support they have received from their teachers and tutors.”
