RUGBY TOUR TO FAR EAST AND NEW ZEALAND

Plans are underway for the Sedbergh School Football Club 1st XV and U17 development squad to travel to Hong Kong and New Zealand this summer for a rugby tour.

A party of 45 players and five coaches will make the trip, and players will test themselves against the best school rugby opposition in the world. The tour departs on 19th July and will involve seven matches over a three-week period, starting in Hong Kong and then finishing in both the South and North islands of New Zealand.

SSFC Director of Rugby Simon Mulholland said: “Rugby tours at Sedbergh are always incredibly special experiences for both the players and coaching staff. It’s a chance to create memories that will last a life time for our young men.

As a football club we try to make our tours as challenging as possible so we can test our players against the highest quality of international opposition in environments where they can learn and ultimately get the best out of themselves as an individual and team.

This tour will certainly be no different! For our 1st XV leavers the tour is the perfect way to sign off their time within the school & career in the SSFC. It is the last time our young men will ever play together as a group and their final time in the famous brown jersey before they hand over the 1st XV badge to the next group of players in the Football club.

I am extremely excited and honoured to be able to lead this talented squad on the tour. It will no doubt be yet another amazing journey for all involved”.
