SCHOOL HOUSE AND ROBERTSON TAKE INTER-HOUSE CROSS COUNTRY TITLES

School House and Robertson House took the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively at this year’s inter-house Cross Country.  After four days of heavy rain the cross country course resembled more of a battlefield than a running circuit and the water jump had turned into something that resembled more of a ‘lake jump’.

However, the juniors were not to be outdone by their senior counterparts and battle commenced.

The first race became farcical due to the conditions and needed to be run again on the Wednesday, so it was left to the Year 10s and 11s to show the way.

Their course involved two long laps and it was a battle between Jamie MacMillan and George Rigal. Jamie ran superbly to nearly break the 20 minute barrier, with Rigal a close second.

Askew made up the medals by holding off the ever improving Spencer Bird.

The girls’ race saw Amy Slattery continue her excellent form shown at Harrow;  she beat Alex Duckitt who ran well to finish second, with Jemima Cookson in third.
