SEDBERGH CELEBRATES ANOTHER EXCELLENT SET OF GCSE RESULTS

Sedbergh School is delighted to announce another excellent set of GCSE results that the whole school should be proud of.  

This year, we had 103 pupils sit their GCSE examinations, our biggest cohort ever, and the results were the best the school has seen. 39 per cent of results were graded A*- A grade and pupils achieved an overall pass rate between A*-C of 93 per cent.  

The Mathematics Department achieved a 99% pass rate and achieved over 50% grade A*-A in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics.  The English Department, the first department at Sedbergh to transfer to the 9-1 grading system achieved a 92% pass rate in Language and a 86% pass rate in literature.   

Amongst an impressive set of results five pupils achieved ten or more grade A* – As.

Headmaster, Andrew Fleck said “This year pupils have exceeded their predecessors and there has been greater consistency of performance in subjects this year than we have seen before”.
