Following the cancellation of the International Summer School in 2020 & 2021, we are really looking forward to welcoming our international pupils back to Sedbergh this summer for ISS 2022.

2022 marks the 10th anniversary of Sedbergh International Summer School and there is much to celebrate as we reach this milestone. Over the last 10 years our Summer School has developed from a short ‘course’ to a full and varied 6 week programme, welcoming over 1000 pupils from 40 countries.  As demand for SISS has grown, so too has the range of activities and educational opportunities available. We are wholly committed to providing our pupils with an exceptional summer experience and this year we are delighted to offer the following courses:

• Academic English courses: IELTS
• English + language development courses
• *NEW*: The Leadership & International Relations Academy (LIRA)

Our English+ courses are available to both junior (aged 8-12 years) and senior pupils (aged 13-17 years) and provide the perfect opportunity for those pupils wishing to improve their English language skills. Pupils enjoy 15 hours of formal lessons each week with additional time given to community engagement. Pupils can choose from a selection of different academies (Multi-Activities / Multi-Sports / Outdoor Adventure) each week to enhance their Sedbergh experience and 2 excursions per week completes our action-packed programme.

LIRA is new to the summer school programme this year. This bespoke, transformative 2-week development programme for 15-17 year olds has been designed as a progressive curriculum combining personal coaching, experiential learning and fun excursions, to continuously stretch and develop the pupils as they examine the attributes and develop the necessary skills to become effective leaders of the future.

We take great delight in watching our pupils develop, building resilience and ambition whilst encouraging their growing sense of self. Pupils experience new and exciting activities in a safe and secure environment, supported by our team of dedicated, enthusiastic staff.
