SEDBERGH SCHOOL IN CUMBRIA IS CELEBRATING AN EXCELLENT YEAR FOR GCSE LEVEL RESULTS FOLLOWING ITS RECORD-BREAKING A LEVEL RESULTS LAST WEEK

The top 10 performing pupils in the year gained a stunning 75 A* grades representing 65% of their exams taken.

The top 20 performing pupils  achieved  80% of their grades at A* and A. 5 candidates got A* with Distinction in Further Mathematics.

Year 11  pupils as a whole achieved 88% A*-C grades, the best result for many years. 89% of candidates passed at least 5 GCSEs (grades A*-C)

Top performing pupils include Isobelle Page (11 A*s), James Thomas, Victoria Bailey and Kate Russell (all 8 A*s)

Second Master, Dan Harrison said: “These results are especially pleasing given the government’s drive to reduce grades and are the result of many initiatives that we have developed in the last 4 years at Sedbergh.

These are proving very successful and the pupils have risen to the challenge. We are delighted for them and their teachers who have been magnificent.”
