After celebrating the A-Level results of our Upper Sixth last week, today is the turn of our Year 11 pupils who have received their GCSE results.
We are delighted to report a fantastic set of results for this cohort, with 38.6% of grades marked 9 – 7 (A* -A) and 93.3% of grades marked 9 – 4 (A* – C). This sees an improvement against our last external examination results back in 2019 and an average Value Added score of +0.30, a significant increase on our Pre-Covid examination results.
Sedbergh School Headmaster, Mr Dan Harrison, has shared his praise saying: “This year’s set of GCSE results are very pleasing and represent a real achievement for this cohort of pupils. Our average Value Added score is excellent and there are lots of examples of individual’s excelling.”
Our top performer this year was Talita Sutcliffe (Carus House) who achieved an average grade of 8.64 across all of her results. Olivia Ross (Robertson House) and Carl Schulz-Isenbeck (Winder House) also enjoyed an outstanding set of results, averaging grades of 8.55 and 8.30 respectively. In total, 19 pupils achieved an average grade of 7.5 or higher, which is a fantastic achievement.
We look forward to welcoming these pupils back next week, as they start the next chapter in their Sedbergh journey in our Sixth Form.
