Sedbergh School to host Lancashire Cricket fixture

Sedbergh School are delighted to announce they will be hosting a Lancashire Cricket fixture for the second year in a row.

Following the School’s successful hosting of the County Championship fixture against Durham last season, Lancashire CC has announced it will return to Sedbergh for their Royal London Cup one-day game against Middlesex on Sunday 19 July.

Sedbergh School will also host the inaugural National Counties fixture between Cumberland and Lancashire on Friday 17 July, as a warm-up to Lancashire’s Cup campaign, which will see Middlesex travel to Sedbergh two days later.

Completing a Sedbergh School festival of cricket, which will see three games of cricket taking place within one week, is the Women’s Hundred fixture between Manchester Originals and the Oval Invincibles on Friday 24 July.

Mr Dan Harrison, Sedbergh School Headmaster, said: “We are delighted here at Sedbergh to be hosting more Lancashire CCC matches next year. We were thrilled with the successful outcome of the first-class match last year and are looking forward to welcoming cricket fans back in July. We are especially pleased to be hosting one of the Women’s Hundred match alongside the two other games, as part of our festival of cricket.”

Paul Allott, Lancashire’s Director of Cricket, said: “We’re delighted with the way the fixture list has worked out and our thanks must go to the ECB for their cooperation, as well as the three outgrounds which we will be using next summer.

“Sedbergh School’s hosting of the four-day fixture against Durham last year has encouraged the county to return for a 50 over game in 2020.”
