Sedbergh School are delighted to be named the winner of the award for “Best Community Involvement” at this year’s in-Cumbria Business Awards.
The in-Cumbria Business Awards returned in person this year, with more than 200 of the county’s top businesspeople joining in the celebrations. The evening hosted at The Halston, in Carlisle, welcomed guest presenter for the night, Helen Skelton. She told the audience: “I am delighted to be here tonight to help recognise and celebrate the best of Cumbria – the people and businesses that make it the innovative and successful county that it is.
Sedbergh School scooped the award for Best Community Involvement, recognised for our on-going support to the local community and our increased efforts throughout the Covid-19 pandemic to support those who needed help most. As well as being recognised at last year’s BSA awards for our work in the community, a member of staff at Sedbergh School (Dr Myles Ripley) also received individual praise, being named a Community Hero by South Lakes Housing for his efforts in the local community.
David Milner, Director of Marketing & International Relations at Sedbergh School, attended the event and received the award.
“We are delighted to win the Community Involvement Award at this year’s in-Cumbria Business Awards.” He said.
“As a whole school we are committed to supporting local and surrounding communities and we are honoured to receive this recognition. Our pupils work tirelessly throughout the year and we are very much looking forward to launching our next ‘Sedbergh Gives Back’ campaign and supporting many more charities, projects, businesses and individuals.”
