SEDBERGH SUPER TENS 2017

Sedbergh won their 2nd National Super Tens title in three years with a masterful display of running rugby and physical defence on Buskholme. In what were perfect playing conditions and in beautiful sunshine, Sedbergh progressed to the final with 6 consecutive victories through out the two day tournament.

Sedbergh’s opponents in the final were Milfield in what was a match anticipated rematch of the day one group game which saw the home side run out 19-12 winners in a very tough and tight contest.

The first half of the final was simply breathtaking as Sedbergh stunned Millfield with constant waves of attack. Sedbergh’s speed of play and execution was exceptional, with the outstanding Rob Farrar especially leading from the front.

Tries from Farrar, Bevan Rodd, Cameron Redpath & player of the tournament Josh Hodge gave Sedbergh a commanding 26-0 lead at half time.

After the break Millfield scored two second half tries but it was never going to be enough. The home side had the final say on the last play of the match when Rouban Birch crossed the line from close range to secure a famous Sedbergh victory.
