Sedbergh are delighted to be able to provide support to the brilliant Morecambe Bay Foodbank, by donating over 600kg of food which was supplied through the generosity of our staff and parents.
Morecambe Bay Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in the local area. There is a small staff team, led by Foodbank Manager, Annette Smith, and over eighty regular volunteers who give up their time to support the charity.
As pupils returned back to school, following October Half Term, they were encouraged to provide donations to Morecambe Bay Foodbank. These were compiled in each Boarding House, before being collected and donated. Staff were overwhelmed with the generosity shown by parents as more and more donations started to accumulate.

Mr Worgan and Mrs Hall delivered our contribution and were amazed when the final weight of food was announced at 636kg, a brilliant achievement and something that we, as Sedberghians, can be very proud of.
“Thank you so much, such generosity at such a difficult time for everyone.” Said Annette Smith from Morecambe Bay Foodbank.
Headmaster, Mr Harrison, also shared his thanks saying, “We are pleased to be able to provide valuable support to Morecambe Bay Foodbank with these donations. The true Sedberghian spirit of helping others is one of our core values and something which we take enormous pride in.”
