Sedbergh School will host a friendly fixture against Cumbria CCC on Tuesday 20 July, as well as the opening Royal London Cup game against Sussex on Friday 23 July. With restrictions lifted, subject to change from the UK Government, a bumper crowd is expected. Once the capacity has been confirmed following Government guidelines, information on how Members can reserve their tickets will be announced. This is not expected to be until late June.
Director of Lancashire Cricket, Paul Allott said: “Following the success and positive feedback received from many Members and supporters after Sedbergh School hosted its first Lancashire fixture in 2019 against Durham, the Club is keen to continue to build on its strengthening relationship within Cumbria and we believe that playing two games there in July will allow us to further grow the game in this region. As part of this, we will be looking to engage and grow the All Stars and Dynamo Cricket programmes across North Lancashire and Cumbria and hopefully tie these into the two fixtures at Sedbergh School.
“As we experienced in 2019, the quality of their infrastructure and facilities is excellent and we were hugely impressed by the performance and efforts of their dedicated grounds team, who worked closely with Matt Merchant, to produce an excellent pitch and playing surface for the Durham County Championship fixture.”
Lancashire Cricket is currently assessing transport arrangements for its Members and supporters to the fixtures at Sedbergh School, whilst the Club will also consult with the Members’ Representative Group on further details for the games and the communication of such information to the Membership.
