Help us Fund a Roger Lupton Scholarship for 'Lizzie'
the Big Give Christmas Challenge: Midday Tuesday 28th November to Midday Tuesday 5th December 2023
The Christmas Challenge is run by The Big Give which seeks to match donations and increase the generosity of giving around the world.
This year, our Big Give Champions have pledged £20,000. To receive these funds we need to match them - we need your help to match these funds.
If you are not a Champion for 2023, and you want to support The Big Give to help us fund a place for disadvantaged pupils at Sedbergh, then you must submit funds between midday on Tuesday 28th November and midday on Tuesday 5th December. Outside of these times your funds will not be eligible for matched funding.
The Roger Lupton Scholarship Scheme is entirely funded by donations. Thank you to all those who have given so generously in the past and thank you in advance to all those who are going to support the Big Give Christmas Challenge in 2023.
If we can fund her place, it will be an amazing, life-changing, Christmas gift for a disadvantaged child such as Lizzie.
Who Does the Roger Lupton Scholarship Support?
Lizzie (not her real name) is a young person from a disadvantaged background. Our Headmaster, Dan Harrison, has identified her as having exceptional talent and believes that she will excel if she were to be offered a place at Sedbergh under the Roger Lupton Scholarship scheme.
For Lizzie, this is a ‘sliding doors’ moment, a point in her life where two possibilities emerge. Which path her life takes, is up to us.
