OS, Parents and Friends based overseas can give tax efficiently through a number of organisations:
In Canada donors can give through CAF Canada.
CAF Canada (Charities Aid Foundation of Canada) is a registered Canadian charity working to expand the culture of giving by making it easy, reliable and effective for Canadians to give both internationally and domestically. Their mission is to help donors make strategic and focused philanthropic decisions which have a lasting, positive impact on the individuals and communities they support – throughout the world.
In the USA donors can give through the BSUF (British Schools and Universities Foundation).
BSUF supports school and university fundraising in the British Commonwealth through tax-effective giving in the US. BSUF is a nonprofit, tax-exempt foundation managed by volunteers who serve without compensation of any kind. Its operating expenses and scholarship awards are supported by income from investment of its own funds, by member dues, and by contributions from friends.
In Hong Kong donors can give through the Chapel & York HK Foundation.
The Chapel & York HK Foundation is part of the ever-increasing Family of Foundations set up by Chapel & York International. The Chapel & York HK Foundation is set up as a charity in Hong Kong under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance. Tax-deductible donations used outside HK can only be used for education, religion and poverty.
